iPhone Logic Board Repair Experts Are Ready to Help
When your iPhone suddenly dies, won't charge, or shows strange behaviour like random restarts and overheating, the problem often sits deep inside—on the logic board. This tiny circuit board controls everything your phone does. When it fails, your iPhone becomes useless.
At MyCelcare JLT, our iPhone motherboard repair specialists handle the toughest repairs other shops turn away. We work on component-level faults that require micro-soldering, precision tools, and years of hands-on experience.
Common Logic Board Problems We Fix
iPhones come to us with no power, stuck on the Apple logo, or completely unresponsive. We diagnose and repair charging IC failures, audio chip malfunctions, baseband issues causing "No Service" errors, and short circuits from liquid damage. Our technicians also recover data from water-damaged boards when possible. Contact us at 04 421 1494 now to schedule your free pickup. Visit us at Gold Crest Executive Tower, Office 906, Cluster C, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai.
Your Symptom, and What It Means on the Logic Board
The symptoms of iPhone motherboard failure are easy to mistake for something simpler. Almost every iPhone that reaches our bench arrives with one of the ten below, and the fault is rarely where it looks like it is. A black screen is usually a power problem. A phone that will not charge is usually one failed chip, not a dead phone. Here is what each symptom normally means at board level, and what we actually do about it.
| What you see | Likely cause on the board | How we repair it |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone won't turn on — no power at all | A dead short on one of the power rails, or a power management IC (PMIC) that never brings the board out of sleep. | We measure every rail against its reference value, trace the short to the component holding it down, and replace the failed IC. |
| iPhone stuck on the Apple logo | A boot loop from failing NAND flash, a corrupted bootloader, or an unstable supply line to the CPU. | We read the boot diagnostics over serial to separate a storage fault from a power fault, then reball or replace the chip involved. |
| iPhone restarting repeatedly | An unstable rail — usually a cracked capacitor, or corrosion sitting under a shield after a spill you thought had dried out. | We lift the shields, clean the board ultrasonically, and replace the components that have drifted out of spec. |
| iPhone black screen, but it still rings and vibrates | The display is being driven but not lit: the backlight IC, its filter or its coil has failed. | We rebuild the backlight circuit and restore the backlight rail, so the existing screen lights up again. A cracked panel is a screen replacement instead. |
| iPhone not charging, or not recognised by a computer | Charging IC failure — Tristar or Tigris depending on the model — or a broken charge line between the charging port and the board. | We replace the charging IC under the microscope and rebuild any lifted pads or severed traces around it. |
| iPhone overheating, or draining while idle | A leaking IC drawing current it should not, very often the aftermath of liquid ingress. | We locate the component pulling the excess current with a thermal camera, then replace it and re-measure the draw. If the board tests clean, what you need is a battery replacement. |
| No Service, no signal, or permanently searching | A baseband IC or baseband PMU fault — one of the most common results of a hard drop. | We reball or replace the baseband and its power unit, then verify signal on a live UAE network before it leaves. |
| No sound, dead microphone, greyed-out speaker on calls | A fractured joint under the audio codec IC, usually caused by the board flexing. | We reflow or replace the audio IC and retest microphone, earpiece and loudspeaker together. |
| Touch not responding, or ghost touch | A touch IC fault, or a fractured joint beneath the display connector. | We replace the touch IC and reinforce the joint so the same failure does not return in a few months. |
| iPhone dead after water damage | Corrosion bridging components and eating through traces. This one keeps getting worse until the board is cleaned. | Full strip-down, ultrasonic clean, corrosion removal, then component replacement and trace repair. The sooner it reaches us, the more survives — see our full iPhone water damage repair service. |
None of these quite match your iPhone? Bring it to the JLT workshop anyway — the board-level diagnosis is free whether or not you go ahead, so call 04 421 1494 and we will tell you what we find.
iPhone Chip-Level Repair in Dubai — the Components We Replace
iPhone component-level repair means fixing the board you already own rather than writing it off. Every fault below comes down to a single chip, or a handful of passives on the printed circuit board, so iPhone IC repair replaces that one component instead of the whole board - all of it under a stereo microscope. This is the part of iPhone PCB repair that most workshops in Dubai send out or turn away.
Power Management IC (PMIC)
Dead board, no power, no charge current at all.
Charging IC (Tristar / Tigris)
Will not charge, or a computer no longer recognises the phone.
Baseband & Baseband PMU
No Service, no signal, no IMEI.
Audio Codec IC
Dead microphone, no earpiece, speaker greyed out during calls.
Touch IC
Unresponsive touch, or ghost touch that types on its own.
Backlight IC & filter
Black screen that still rings, or a faint image under torchlight.
NAND Flash
Boot loops, storage failure, and data recovery from a board that will not start.
Wi-Fi / Bluetooth IC
Greyed-out Wi-Fi toggle, or Bluetooth that never finds a device.
What board-level iPhone repair actually takes
Microscope-guided iPhone micro-soldering, hot-air BGA rework and reballing, ultrasonic cleaning for liquid-damaged boards, DC power analysis to hunt shorts, and a thermal camera to find the component drawing current it should not. All of it happens on an ESD-controlled bench, because a circuit board that survived the original fault can still be killed by a spark of static on the way to the microscope.
iPhone Motherboard Replacement vs Board-Level Repair
If you have been quoted for a whole new motherboard, it is worth understanding what that actually costs you beyond the price.
Why we repair the board you already have
Your NAND flash — every photo, message and app on the phone — is paired to the original board. Face ID is paired to the original processor. Swap the whole logic board out and you keep the handset but lose both, which is why a replacement so often arrives back as an empty phone with Face ID switched off for good. Repairing at component level keeps the board, the data and Face ID together.
When replacement really is the answer
Some boards are past it. A board snapped across a BGA, or one left in salt water long enough for corrosion to reach the inner layers, is not coming back however good the soldering is. When that is what we find, we say so at the diagnosis — recover what data we can, quote you honestly against the rest of our iPhone repair options, and not charge you for an attempt we do not expect to win.

How long it takes. Most iPhone logic board repairs leave the workshop inside 24–48 hours. Liquid damage is the exception: corrosion work runs to 3–5 days because the board has to be cleaned, dried and retested between stages. We tell you which of the two yours is after the diagnosis, not before it.
About the 3-month warranty. It is shorter than the year we give on screens and batteries, and that is deliberate. A board that has already taken liquid or a hard impact can develop a second, unrelated fault later on, and we would rather publish a term we can stand behind than a longer one we would end up arguing about.
iPhone Motherboard Repair Prices
Starting prices for board-level repair, current as of August 2026. Models newer than iPhone 16 are quoted after diagnosis rather than estimated. Note: We'll need pre-approval for the repair. If we have to replace additional parts or if the repair price exceeds the pre-approved amount, we will seek your approval.

Repairing the iPhone motherboard usually doesn't affect your data. At My Celcare JLT, we successfully repair 95% of iPhone motherboards without data loss. If data is at risk, we notify clients beforehand.
Most board-level repairs are finished within 24–48 hours. Liquid-damage recovery is the exception and usually runs 3–5 days, because the board has to be cleaned, dried and retested between stages. We confirm which applies to your iPhone once the free diagnosis is done.
It covers the component we replaced and the soldering work around it. It does not cover a fresh drop or new liquid ingress after the repair. Three months is shorter than the year we offer on screens and batteries, because a board that has already suffered liquid or impact damage can develop an unrelated second fault later — we would rather state that plainly than promise a term we could not honour.
Yes. We open the iPhone, test the board and tell you what has failed at no charge, whether or not you go ahead with the repair. You will know the fault and the price before any money changes hands.
We tell you at the diagnosis stage rather than after an expensive attempt. If a board is genuinely beyond repair — snapped across a chip, or corroded through to the inner layers — we will explain the options, including data recovery and a replacement board, and we will not charge you for an attempt we do not expect to succeed.
Yes. Face ID is paired to the original processor, so repairing the board you already own keeps it working. That pairing is exactly why a whole-motherboard replacement so often means losing Face ID permanently, and one of the main reasons we repair at component level wherever the board allows it.
Often, yes — but time matters more than anything else, because corrosion keeps spreading after the phone dries. Do not try to charge it and do not leave it in rice. Bring it to us switched off and we will strip it down, clean the board ultrasonically and repair or replace the corroded components.
We repair it wherever the board allows. Replacing an iPhone motherboard means losing the data stored on the paired NAND flash and losing Face ID with it, so a swap is a last resort here rather than a default. Chip-level repair keeps the original board, its data and its Face ID pairing intact.
