The proximity sensor is a small part placed at the back of LCD near the speaker of iPhone 5. This sensor enables the LCD to black out when the call is received and the phone is held near ear. By letting screen turn off, the phone is unable to make moves due to accidental touches during call. The sensor is quite useful as it restricts the phone to take actions at its own without the intention of the user. The sensor might stop working or get faulty if the user of iPhone 5 uses the phone with moist or greasy hands or the phone fell into the water or a little amount of water entered the phone through speaker area. The proximity sensor then requires replacement which can only be done by professional at MyCelCare because we have expertise in these issues.
